Update!

So I've been gone a very, very, very long time!  

Classes were getting tough and I need to FOCUS! 

It paid off because since I've been gone I passed Ortho-Neuro (MedSurg 2) and Cardio (MedSurg 3).

Cardio is the hardest class in the whole program btw. 

So I only have 1 more class until I graduate which is very exciting and a bit surreal.

Time really flies and I'm actually a bit nervous for the next chapter in my life.  

I do plan to continue and pursue my BSN. 

More school =D

In preparing for the changes in my life I decided to go back to brunette! 

Being blonde was a ton of work and I truthfully was getting really tired of it. 

I started feel as though I was washed out and I really wanted to wear in my head what I call "fall/autumn" colors. 

I felt that would completely clashed with my hair color.  

So I'm now a medium reddish brown and I love it!

It was a long process (about 6 hours) to make the change. 

The good news is my hair is in good condition.

In preparing for the change I did extra protein treatments to make my hair less porous so it would accept the hair color more evenly. 

Life is really good right now and I'm glad to be back!!!!

A little healthier me

So I know it's been a really long time since I've posted. 

I've been on summer vacation (I passed my OB course with an A by the way). 

I made it a mega goal to enjoy the hell out of my summer and so far, I'm getting an A in that too. 

I went with some fellow nursing students to Orlando for a week and had a blast (I'll post on that later). 

I caught up on my reading and sleep (hehe).  

I have done massive amounts of shopping. 

I also have completely fallen in love with Maybelline, in my opinion the BEST drugstore brand ever. 

But of course don't get me wrong I still heart prestige brands. 



On to the title of this post. 

I've made it a goal to eat healthier.  

I attempting to eat 1 salad a day.  

So far so good. 

I've been having serious stomach issues lately. 

Mostly nervous stomach aches but I think my previous poor diet was contributing to it as well. 

So I'm trying to lay off of the greasy foods and eat more fiber and veggies. 

As a whole though I'm pretty healthy, that is I have great blood pressure and my BMI is good.  

I really just wanna tame this pesky stomach issue. 

Here are some pictures of different salads, soups, and (store bought) sushi I've been munching on instead of burgers and fries.

Weight (yeah thats right!) 142 (nothing but pride!!) and BMI of 24.43!!!

** Another huge change in my life is POP Pilates and Blogilates!  By a super fit/sexy/hot chick named Cassey Ho.  Her YouTube channel and her Blog are the best!  She offers amazing FREE workouts to fun music on YT and her blog has custom calendars that tell you what YT videos to do on a particular day.  She also has an additional YT channel that offers nutritional advice and what not. 

And she has a super cute clothing line!!

Taking buns out of the oven!

Today was a wonderful day! 

I had my first OB rotation today. 

I was assigned to the Labor and Delivery/ Scheduled Cesareans unit. 

I got to attend 3 cesareans! 

Was so freaking amazing.  

All of the expecting mothers had epidurals. 

All of the newborns were healthy! 

I even got to cut an umbilical cord! 

The nurses I worked with today (baby catcher, labor nurses, NICU nurses) were all very nice and very informing. 

I learn so much on my first day. 

The expecting parents were great as well. 

My professor told me at the end of the day that the nurses I shadowed said I was a pleasure to work with, I was great with my patients, and will be a GREAT nurse!

No way to beat that!!! :) 

Super happy!

March Miami Art Walk (Photo/Art Heavy)

Last Saturday I went with my friends Sharene and Bradley to Art Walk in Miami's Design/Art district.

Was a really fun and nice evening (perfect for my last weekend of spring break).

We even got lucky and was able to get good parking, always a bonus. 

We first hit up Lester's a friendly hipster bar and we each grabbed a beer, a Dave's Pale Ale to be exact. 

Then we went to the centre where there's music performances surrounded by statues, pieces and completely enclosed in murals. 

Then we were piggies and went for the food trucks.  

I had a slice of pizza with tomatoes, fresh basal, and fresh garlic.

I also munched on a beef empanada.

Sharene and I both got cupcakes which were sooooo good!

They were banana and nutella!!!!

After we stuffed ourselves we visited the galleries.

Around midnight we decided we wanted another drink so we went to a bar called The Electric Pickle which was within walking distance of Art Walk.

Bradley had a mojito without mint and Sharene and I had Strongbows (hard ciders). 

After hangin out for a bit, we finally headed home!

Great night!
